Benjamin Rothman Ayanot

Ayanot Youth Village High School

The Benjamin Rotman High School at the Ayanot Youth Village is far more than an educational institution. The school's overarching goal is to ensure that each and every one of its 320 students (including students at risk and students with disabilities) feels seen, while establishing a genuine sense of identity and belonging to the place. The student population is comprised of two-thirds boarding school students and one-third external students who arrive by choice from surrounding communities. It offers a meaningful framework for educational and ethical integration, fostering a strong sense of connection and identity within a supportive and enriching environment. Many of the students who arrive at the high school are young men and women who did not find their place within traditional educational frameworks closer to their homes. Through a unique combination of a supportive boarding environment, an active agricultural farm, and a flexible curriculum, the school provides a tailor-made approach that enables students not only to complete 12 years of schooling, but also to surpass their own perceived limitations.
