Psycho-social support
Based on the understanding that the Israeli education system was forced to intensively deal with the emotional consequences on children of the October 7th terror attack and the ensuing war, we initiated the Soul Brothers project, in partnership with Israel Venture Network (IVN). We joined forces to provide psycho-social support to approximately 12,000 students and staff at 22 educational institutions located within a 7 km radius from the border with Gaza.
The students and staff took part in a variety of activities that provided an immediate and ad-hoc response to their urgent emotional and psychological needs. The support components included individual and group psychological therapy, psychiatric consultation and therapy, occupational therapy, therapeutic horseback riding, animal-assisted therapy, art and movement, yoga and meditation, training for the educational teams on coping with trauma and intervention in times of crisis.
