About the lecturer:
Dr. Mina Raz manages the domain of transitioning into adulthood at Alumot Or. Within the framework of her role, she develops study programs, professional models and theory- and research-based assessment tools, together with the schools and the organization's team of experts.
Concurrently, Dr. Raz is responsible for the domain of disabilities at the central training academy of welfare workers, and is responsible for the professional training and courses on behalf of the Ministry of Welfare and Social Affairs' Disabilities Administration.
In her lectures, Dr. Raz proposes engaging in dialog on adolescence and the transition of youths with disabilities to adult life, in which she includes updated research-based knowledge, practical tools and real-life stories.
In the sessions, we will discuss:
- The personal, familial and systemic processes characterizing the maturation process of youths with disabilities.
- The central role of the parents, teachers and various professionals in shaping the youths' personal and professional identity.
- The challenges and opportunities in the transition into adulthood – employment, higher education, accommodation, etc.
- How to foster future orientation, inner motivation and the ability to guide oneself in youths with disabilities.
